Kauai Surf Break
Biddles with his new hat....it's been so sunny so this has worked

good for the car. Old Navy has them for $5.50!

This is biddles eating his rice cereal and sweet potatos. The last picture is Eli's squishy snorty face. He breaths in and out really fast through his nose and squints his eyes. He also got a new high chair. The one we were given had to be sent to high chair heaven. It was an honor to have the Kuhn family high chair but Eli could put his feet under the tray and push it off. The locks no longer worked. So we got this Saftey 1st high chair that's able to fold up and go with us wherever. The other high chair was also Safty 1st, so I figured if it could last 8 years and four boys then it would be a good brand to buy.

The gate is now up. He is moving around quite a bit.
You can see his little feet pushing on the floor.
Sometimes he goes on all fours but he usually just falls on his
belly and then pushes with his toes.

Today we also went on a walk. It was a bit cold, but so sunny, so the cold wasn't so bad.

Well we had a great sunday!
This is Eli waking up from his morning nap. He was grabbing the crib rail...very cute! I didn't know that he can reach it. I will be now putting the rail up ALL the way.

Then we went to church where he got to play with his buddy Isaac. Well mostly he just chewed on the little boat on the twisty toy. Oh and the new kid in the nursery kept trying to hit him with the stackable cups.

With all that playing he then took a nap in the sling. So precious!!! I love it when he falls asleep in the sling. He's so cozy and snuggly.

Then after that we went over to Uncle Pats & Aunti Kristy's house, hung out with daddy and practiced his crawling. Today (Monday) he crawled from one end of the rug to the other. Then the rest of the day he just kinda played in one place. It must take a lot of work to do all that crawling.

The newest news is that he is getting his first tooth. On the bottom in the front. I can see a little white tip. He's doing really good. He's been really happy so far. And he's been eating a ton...he loves sweet potatos and rice cereal. Today he ate the most he has eaten ever. And sleeping a lot also. He must be in growth spurt. Things are getting very busy around here, he's quite the mover.

Daddy and Biddles at Starbucks this morning. Don't worry he didn't really drink the Chi!

Swimming with Mom and Dad at the Y. Eli is such a good little swimmer.
And loves to use his kick board to kick around the pool.

Practicing Crawling. Eli is up on all fours and moves back and forth. Sometime he goes for it and wipes out. He's such tuff kid though because he just goes at it again.

Well last night Eli slept through the night! We kept wondering if he was ok...checking on him throughout the night. But of course he was! He went to bed at 7pm and woke up at 6:30am. 11.5 hrs. Good Job Biddley.

The letter of the day is R...backwards!!!

Hi!

Eli ate his first foods this week. We first tried mushed bannanas w/ Breastmilk. And then later on in the week we tried rice cereal w/Breastmilk. He made some funny faces, but overall was quite excited to be eating. If the food was too runny then he would try to blow on it when I put the spoon in his mouth. Food went everywhere. So we thickened it up a bit and he does better. He likes to grab the spoon as i'm putting it in his mouth. Then he sucks on the spoon and slurps up all the food. Were working on the sippy cup too. I'm reading a good book called Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron. It tells you everything you could ever want to know about feeding your baby, all the nutritional information for each developmental phase and how to quickly and easily you can make your own baby food.

A Poo Story

This was also a first. I was only in the kitchen for a second. I came back out minutes later to see what all the noise was (Eli talking and playing loudly) to find him on his tummy (I had left him on his back playing in the living room) rolling around and playing in his poo. He also got a bunch of his little letters in on it too. Poo was everywhere. I swear this all happened in less then 1 minute. The joke is this. Ever since Eli has started eating foods and learning to crawl he has not wanted to go on the potty. Some days he will go, and other days he will protest. He does this by arching his back and looking up at me and talking really loud. So I tried to not have a diaper on him today to see if we would relinqish the potty practice...but Eli has definatly had the last word on this one. This coming from a 5 1/2 month old who has never wanted to go poo in his diaper, I could count on two hands how many dirty diapers I have had to changed since he was 10 weeks old. So this is his first "Potty Pause", he wants to take a brake, I get it. No potty practice for the rest of the week, unless he tells me he wants to go!

Daddy giving Eli a bath. This a ritual every night. Jeff is such a great dad. He gives Eli a bath every night, puts his PJ's on and read him stories. Giving me a break for awhile. Then I come and join in for another story, we say our prayers, Eli gets his night time yum yums and then off to bed. Now that Eli is sitting up, bath time is quite fun. He's splashing and playing with his bath toys. This last week he even fussed a bit when it was time to get out, which was cute!

Well we has a pretty exciting last few days. We moved Eli's bed into his room this weekend and he slept in it for the first time. He did pretty well only waking up 3 times. He's been only waking up at 12:30 and 5:00 so we thought it wouldn't be to hard to have him in his own room. Saturday we went to Ikea with Pat and Kristy. This was fun. I was sick but wanted to go anyway. I'm still sick though and will be going to the doctors tomorrow :( Eli has whatever I have also so I want to make sure that I don't have anything that needs antibiotics. Be praying for us that we both get better!

This weekend we practiced the sippy cup...if a cup is this messy I can't wait for next month when we start real food :)

Eli got a Jumperoo!!!! Something that he really enjoys. He just goes to town in this things....yelling and jumping....it's very entertaning

AND One minute he was like this......

Then he was like this......ahhhhh....what is he doing...that's air under the belly....

He must be stopped!!! No crawing for at least a few more months....

We had a good time over Christmas and New Years in Nyssa. Eli did great on his first plane ride. He slept on the way there and played on the way back. We were very relieved that he did so good traveling. He even took and hour nap in the airport... Now back at home he seems to getting adjusted to normal life. He loves being around lots of people and staying busy all day, so the first day home was a bit hard. He thru his first tantrum when he didn't want to take a nap. But today he has been back to his old happy, smiley self.

Eli grew up quite a bit while we were gone. He is now sitting up!!! It was about two weeks of sitting with the boppy (love the boppy) and then on Monday, he stayed up all by himself with no boppy for twenty minutes. He still topples to the side every once in a while. But now I look at him and think "you're so big...stop growing", but then I'm excited at the same time that he is doing new fun things. He is also starting to lift himself up with his arms when he's on his belly. And now when he pushes his feet against your hands his little arms move forward like he's crawling. I think he's aways from actually crawling, but all these little things are big things for me and Jeff:) Here some pictures from over the last few weeks.
