Kauai Surf Break
Well today is Eli's birthday, officially at 8:50pm. I can't believe a year has gone by so fast. Eli is such a joy and we can't imagine life without him. On Saturday we celebrated Eli's Birthday with Lots of family and friends! It was a great day, sunny and warm.
Eli got a little pool from Grama B and we also had water balloons.
Thanks to everyone who came and made it such a fun time!

Grammy Faith Made Eli a special gingerbread cake that was good for him to eat.

Well here is the last part of our California trip. This is are drive from Ventura to San Francisco and then back to Jeff's Grama's in Martinez.

Beach outside of Cambria

Hearst castle
We would have liked to go on a tour of the castle but it was a bit pricey. It look beautiful though from where we were, which was the closest we could get.

Elephant Seals....Mating time!!!

(Spoken in a guy and girl voice)
"I love you"...."I love you too"...
"I like your big nostrils"...I like yours too"

More Coast....

During parts of it we were so high up. Kinda scary but very cool to see.

This was Eli's longest day in the car ever.
He did really well and even took a few naps. The Leap Frog farm thing saved us big time.
He is much happier now that we are home out of the car.
Carmel Beach
A few hours from Santa Cruz we stopped in Carmel for one last beach stop. This was just after driving on the longest strip of coast ever. Lots of cliffs and rocks...we were in huge need to stretch our legs. This beach was very clear and reminded us of Hawaii.

Santa Cruz
So buy now we are starving, tired and totally sick of the car. Santa Cruz is very hard to get around and it took us forever to just find a decent restaurant that had REAL food. Finally we asked someone who told us to go to the wharf. It was right on the water, in fact you have to drive onto the dock and park. Then all these restaurants are right on the dock, and you just pick one. The food was awesome and so was the view.
As we were done we headed back into the car to finish the 3 more hours of driving that lay ahead to San Fransisco.

San Fransisco
So this is a funny story....we now it is. We could not for the life of us find The Golden Gate Bridge. We drove around for a good part of an hour...got really lost....got a ticket for making a illegal U turn (dumb cop..hello...baby....rental car....map....why why why) . Anyways, we finally made it to the hotel like at 11:30 pm and just collapsed. Though the next had its bumbs, being so tired and all, we ended up having a good time in San Fran for the day.
Golden Gate Bridge

soooo tired....

The next morning we headed back over it again to get back to the city so see some sights

Alcatraz (in the background)

Back to Grama's
So later that day we head back to Martinez to bewith Grama again.
