Kauai Surf Break
This is the playgroup that we have at our house every other Wednesday. This has been a great way for Eli to meet knew kids and learn all about sharing. Most of the time though he seems to be more concerned with putting on a show and being really silly. Everyone shares snacks and toys while the moms get to chat. It's really turning out to be quite fun. This group was started through Kitsap Meet Up. Most city's have Meet ups, so if your a mom and want to connect with other moms in the community, its a great place to start!
To find a meet up in your city (in WA) just go to

This is Laura and Allen and there sweet new baby boy Soren, just 72 hours old. He is the cutest thing ever. I was so glad that Laura gave him up for a few precious moments so that I could hold him. Jeff got to hold him too. So sweet how he just was so zonked on Jeff. We stopped by on our date night, that's why Eli is no where to be found. He was with Super Brenden!

My dad came over for Thanksgiving and stayed for a few days. This is what we end up doing most the time he comes. Eating lots of yummy food, sitting around the table (notice the big mess) and playing with Eli. We also got to get up the Christmas lights before he left, which was a huge help. And a quick update on Eli's ever growing vocabulary. He say All done "All Da", Potty "Doety" and Thank You "Doe Ti". He seems to be substituting Doe for Th and P sounds. I think he wants to start his own dialect.

I love all of our faces in this picture

Time to put up the lights

We still have a few holes to fill because we ran out
of lights but over all it came out pretty good,

So I know that everyone is expecting pictures of the turkey on Turkey Day...but I'm a little behind on my blogging and need to play catch up. So we'll start with last weekend and over the next few days I'll post the rest.
Last weekend we went to the Noah's house for a 24 hour playtime. We had lots of fun eating, playing, chasing the dogs, eating, going outside in the rain, eating and more eating. Something about this age, but all they seem to want to do is eat. We wish we lived closer to Noah, but we will have to make the best of these little short trip that never seem to be long enough.

This was the evil pitcher that almost caused some tears...the
other wanted it when the other had it!

Noah likes to stuff....all of his food....all at once. Its really funny.

This is Eli's touchdown dance

Every player should have there own ball in foot ball.
Think how much more fun the game would be.

Reading time with Ang
But then Noah saw that Eli was reading a book...
So he stole it...
Then left it on the floor...
So Eli....

Got down on the floor to finish his page...

Play time with dada
After naps we went to the outlet mall for some dinner and shopping. We did find a ball for Eli that we will give him for Christmas...a mini soccer ball. Yes and here are the boys eating again. We had such a fun time and can't wait to see Noah again!

Grampa came last weekend and I am just now getting the photos up. We had a great time and Eli got lots of play time with Grampa. Eli also was sad the other night, his molar was breaking through I found out the next day, anyways...he wasn't crying, but he couldn't fall asleep the other night. So I laid down with him in our bed until he fell asleep. He was so happy to just be all snuggly next to me, which means he's not feeling that great :). So then I took a picture and then I was reminded of when he was so little and was sleeping with us. So here's a few photos of that also. Oh and some other random shots from our week! Also...we can now add Water (waba) and Apple (Appa) to Eli list of words.

Sunday: Here is Eli with his friend eating a snack. They sat and ate there crackers so nice and with such good manners! Good job boys.

This is one of Eli's new tricks. He finds the bowl and puts it against the stove so it doesn't move and then stands on it. Sometimes for long extended periods of time!

Today he found my hat when I told him it was time to go bye bye and put it on. Then ran around the house like a little crazy man.

Last week we took Eli to the Sheridan Community Center for Play Group Time. He just seemed to own the place as he walked around and Jeff followed him from toy to toy. He loves all the action. Eli is also saying lots of words right now that are so cute. He can say: Happy, Hot, Baby, Hi, Bye Bye, and of course Mama and Dada. We have been reading this book called Baby On The Baby, By William Sears and it tells the story of a family that is about to have a baby. Eli wants to read it off and on throughout the day. There is even a picture of what the baby looks like inside the tummy. So we have been teaching Eli that there's a baby in Mama's belly just like the one in the picture and just like the mom in story. Now when I point to my belly and say "Eli what's in Mama's belly?" He says "Bebe". So cute!

Here are some pic's from the playgroup

About me

Hi I'm Kim. My husband Jeff and I live in Kauai with our 4 boys. I mostly love sunshine, coffee and surfing. So Kauai really works well. We came here and opened a non-profit coffee shop call Ha Coffee Bar. It's taken me some time to know my voice but now I'm listening. This is my journal.
You might find me writing about, legos, Minecraft, space, story writing, painting, surfing, coffee, veganism. We also dabble in the minimalist lifestyle and try our best to focus on experiences rather then things!
