Kauai Surf Break
My friend Karla told us about this park. Its so close to where we live and has been around for a while but we never ventured down there as a family. So this will have to be the first trips of many. Their is a cool path that takes you along the water, a playground that Eli can play on and lots of grass for whatever you wanted to do.
At first Eli didn't want to play on the playground, so we got out his little push car that some friends gave to us this past week and we pushed him around. Then once he saw a basket ball he b-lined it to the play ground. But that ball belonged to another little boy that feels the same way about balls that Eli does so that was just a big disappointment. We almost left the park but then realized that Eli had his own ball in the car. After a long tantrum and not allowing us to put him in the car seat, I felt as though the small little boy needed some closure in his world. So we gave him his ball and set him on his way. To the playground he went, with his ball in hand. That led to a quit enjoyable time on the playground and lots of fun pictures.

Eli is looking up at the moon...Well Eli says that it's a ball.
I think he thinks its like the Head Ball...the Leader and Creator of all Balls. Just the look in his eyes in this picture says it all. Such a pleased look..like he found what he was always looking for these past 18 Months.

The Ball!

Eli gets to Zoom Zoom!

Notice the ball on the top of the climbing thing. That was his prize. I don't think he would have even wanted to climb the grate if I hadn't put the ball up there.

Fun Day!

So a few weeks ago Jeff's parents came to visit for the weekend. Right after they left we left for Chicago, then we got back and I realized that all of the photos from the time they came were on Jeff's computer and not mine. So I just got the pictures tonight and thought that I would be a good mom and post these photos of very special Grandparent visit.

We went to Central Market in Poulsbo to try to find some special four for a friend of Faiths. Once we found that we then found the local strawberries that they had for sample. I had to ask myself...."when is a sample no longer a sample, but more like a mini meal." I justified it though cause Eli was hungry and so was the baby. We lots of strawberries to say the least. After Central we went to Toys R Us so Richard could get Eli a Hoop. Eli was so beside himself and played with it the rest of the weekend. And currently it is still in the living room as the center piece toy. It has brought lots of fun for all of us.

The Hoop!

These are Eli lips...they stick out when he is going to throw a ball or shoot a hoop.

We Love Grammy!!!

These are letters that Grammy got for Eli for Christmas. And if you ask him to sing the ABC song. He will. Of course his version only has two letters.
What a great alphabet that would be...two letters!
The point to this photo though is to show the creative personality of my little 18 months old. He always takes down all the letters that have "balls" on them and puts them in a pile. No matter how many times I have put them back on the fridge, they are always in a jar, cup, bowl, or just in a pile on the floor. At first I didn't understand what he was doing.
Then we figured it out and had to just laugh.

Thanks to Ryan and Kristin Raffie is safe and home. I think he tried to stay in Chicago to get some personal time in with Scamper and Scooter. We are so proud of him to. As you can see Raffie is wearing big boy undies (Kristin must have done EC).
Eli really missed him.

(updated post with all the photos)
Here is the last bit of Chicago photos that I have. Mostly of the Shedd Aquarium. I have to say that I will actually miss Chicago. I don't think that I could live there, too cold in the winter and a bit too flat, but I would like to go back again. It would be fun to go during a spring or summer, when its not so cold. The food was so very good and there's lots to do as a family. We'll miss Ryan and Kristin too, its sad that they have to live so far away. Now we not only have to find someone with an Xbox 360 to play Scene It and Viva Pinata, but we also have to find someone who will come over play some cards with us. Can't wait till they move back to this side of the states!

The Shedd Aquarium

Eli was blowing kisses to the fish...it was so cute.

Eli kept pointing to the next place to go. Mostly he was just copying us. But it was cute because he kept pointing to just random places. This was him pointing to nowhere particular right when I was pointing to the fish. Of course he always follows it by a rambleing of words that we can't understand, sounding rather serious and convincing that something very important lied ahead.
A much needed break from walking...

Dolphin, whales and sharks.

Cards with Ryan and Kristin

Scamper...she mostly just watched Eli from a distance. But she did gain more confidence by the end of the week that Eli was not going to do something horrible to her.

Need I say anything...
"Seeya Chicago...bye" says Eli with his briefcase bible. "I'm going home, whoo hooo"

I have some videos that I will post later!
