I thought that it might be time for an update on the boys. Which means I am going to share a bit about each of them so that when I come out of the fog of toddlerhood I will be able to have a reference point in order to remember what happened.
Really I love these boys...they are life. Get out the biggest bowl you can get and fill it to the brim with your favorite ice cream, then get all the best toppings you can grab, with 3 cherry's on top...and you might come close...maybe :)
Some days we really live life hard. From the moment we wake up till we crash on our pillows. Long days with so much packed in it's over flowing on all sides. From 7 am on the boys are go! They are now waking up and walking into our room and either do 1 of 2 things. All blankets, water bottles and various other things come into our bed for a 15-20 minute snuggle. Usually Eli hasn't gone potty yet, so we tell him to do that. Silas comes in and runs to my side. Eli over to Jeff's. Mo is left in his room and I hear him on the monitor (don't worry, I go and get him). This quickly turns into a massive body pillow pile up.
OR Option #2 Eli will come into the room and ask if they can "quietly" play in their room with the door shut. That usually lasts all of 5 minutes and very quickly goes down hill. So That's usually how the day starts. We eat breakfast and get dressed, not always in that order, then we pray as a fam and Jeff heads out to work. The rest is history till lunch at noon. Mo has quit his morning nap, except for sometimes, and is going down with Silas at 1pm. Except for certain conditions Eli is totally done with naps. He is either on my bed reading books, or in his bed taking a rest. Today though he play legos while I ran on the treadmill and then he read books for while.
Last month Mo turned 1. I forgot to post about it...so here's what happened. We made blueberry pancakes, sang a birthday song, opened some presents, then went to the fair to see the animals. Overall he's was pretty happy!
Silas is officially a potty grad. He's been going strong now for a few weeks. Up until a few weeks ago he had been struggling with #2 but now he's doing great. No more diapers. He runs up to me now during the day and say's in a fury "MAMA GO PEE!!!" So we run to the bathroom and GO! I'm working on naps this week. He still needs a diaper on for that. But I'm so proud of him for using his words and being such a big boy. And he just turned 2 1/2 so he's so just such a smart kid.
Silas brought me these the other day and said that this was his horse and his computers...funny kid!
Eli is currently very busy on his "foundation" and is slightly stressed that he has not finished it yet. This morning he prayed for 2 more dump trucks (mentioning to Jeff that it was partially his fault that he was short because he ran over one with the lawn mower) and also for more kids. Because if more kids came, he could finish his foundation. After he told me this morning that he wanted to pray for more dump trucks I said well we also should pray for people. That's when he asked to pray about getting more kids to finish his foundation. So that's what we prayed for!
slightly less important but still up there, is his lego race car. Which also can be built into a jeep and a go-cart. So far he's built the race car and the Jeep. He sit's down, reads the picture instructions and builds. I about crapped my pants the first time I realized he was building it. But he did it...then he did it again...and then again.
I'm also really enjoying are conversations in the bathroom. That's the place that we go and sit and have talks about whatever struggle or conflict we may be going through. Both him and Silas have a stool that they sit on and we have a calender on the wall with verses and questions. There is so much going on in his little heart. So much to tell him about God, Jesus, The Great Deceiver and the battle that goes on for his little heart every day. We are full on in a battle, everyday we wake up and we are in it. It's my soul purpose in life right now to teach these boys about this broken world and the Great Rescuer who is writing their story. What an adventure to teach them to Trust in their Creator. I don't take it lightly. I am at war for my boys...
Eli's boat bed!
Did I mention that this boy loves his little brother. He's a great protector of Mo. Rescues him from danger and swings with him whenever he wants. Big bowls of ice cream...cherries on top! Lot's of life happening here...full to the brim!
