La Jolla Beach, San Diego

While we had a nice couple taking our picture this big wave came and swept away all our stuff, we had to rush over and grab everthing before it went out to sea. All was good!

Learning How to Surf
Chad let us borrow his board to try to surf. Jeff already want to try it and now we are both are hooked and are declaring it our New Family Sport. Of course we need surf boards....

Anna gave Eli this teethig cookie, he kept dipping it into he
sand and eating it. He Loved it till the very end...sand and all.

Eli got an eary Birthday present from the Stenwicks. This is a Leap Frog Baby Farm Fridge toy. It plays songs and lets you know when you get a match of the farm animals. This was so great to have on the drive from Venture to San Francisco a few days ago (8 hours). All the pieces magnetize to the back to they travel really well.

Ventura

So we left Chad and Annas and headed back North along the coast making lots of needed stops along the way. It took us two, with stops at different beaches and sites along the way. When we got o Ventura (half way up the coast to San Fran) We found the beach after we went to In n Out. We played in the sand before heading to our Hotel for some much needed rest. Ventura was a nice town that we will one day have to see again.

So we have been in San Diego with Chad and Anna for the last week and it has been lots of fun. Eli loves having kids and toys to play with and Jeff and I love the pac n play and the sense of some sort of a routine for Eli. Most days we go to the pool or the beach before and after naps. All the kids get up and go to bed at the same time so we have been taking turns watching each other's babes. Here are some pics over the last few days!

So whenever we go to the beach Eli loves to go to whoever is around that has toys and kids. We let him go if we get the ok from the parentals and usually his cutness gets him whatever he wants.

Mission Beach

Saddley during our time at mission beach a 15 year old kid drown just a few 100 feet from where we were. We watched them administer CPR for over 30 minutes but he died. So very sad to watch. All we could do was pray. I wondered if he knew Jesus....so young...his mom was crying...I though of Eli. It made me think of how precious each day is and how Each day is the Lords, a gift that He gives.

Here are a bunch of photos that we have taken so far. We were so happy to get taken to the airport by ang, that way Noah and Eli could say goodby! We started off in Oakland visiting Eli's Great Grama Adams, Jeff's Dad's mom. We had so much fun visiting with his cousin Johnathan and his wife Sara, Uncle Steven and Uncle Don & Aunt Linda, we will see them again in a few weeks and have pictures (we forgot to get the camera out for the first few days, I think we were really tired). Eli was so good with all the traveling and flying. He had a hard time the first few day adjusting to the heat and the new place to sleep, but he is such a flexable kid and we are so proud of him. He's been sleeping in a little tent made for babies to sleep in and also sleeping with us. While in Martinez we went to the pool where Eli could swim and play. It was SOOOO hot there.

On our way to Laguna (Orange County) to visit with my Aunt and Uncle. Eli did good but started to get cranky about half way through the 9 hour drive. I think it was at this point that we stopped for dinner and I then turned his car seat around. He is only a few weeks away from being one so I thought it would be fine. This seemed to help him manage the rest of the drive.

Ok, these water wings are pretty fun. Eli liked them and they worked pretty good.

Eli met this little boy named Conner at the pool who was also 11 months. They were friends right away. Conner was really cute and did this crab walk everywhere he went, not want to walk yet.

We ate outside every night while in Laguna. The weather was just right.

Eli really loved Uncle Brian. By the end of our time Eli was really comfortable with him and sat with him for quite some time. This was cute moment where Eli was looking him.

Jeff took Eli to the Beach for his first time. He was a bit unsure so we took him back to the sand where he played in the sand for a long time. He later threw one of his biggest tantrums yet when we left the beach. I got lots of looks on the way to the car.

We took a night off on our way to the Chad and Anna' s and went to a Sheraton for a night. So much fun! Eli loved the big bed and took up most of it during the night. We also played in the pool. He was so happy to have so playtime in the hotel and play with is new beach toys.
