I was in the laundry room shoveling clothes in the washer and Mo came up to me and said "poyee" which means potty. At first I couldn't understand him, but then he said "fjdlaiog fkdsoi gio poo poo". My radar went up and I asked him if he went poo poo....he said "DUP!" So I walked with him expecting to find a poop somewhere in the house. But instead he walked into the boys bathroom and proceeded to get on the toilet. I helped him. He then went potty and poo! I was shocked. Not that he went pottty, he's been doing that since he was born, but that he TOLD ME and then went. That is a first and something to celebrate. He's 22 Months old! He's well on his way to joining his brothers and we are well on our way of not having to buy diapers anymore :)
"No more saying, No, But, What if, Um, and Well!"...EVER. It's been that sort of week. Nothing out of the ordinary just a time when things seem kinda out of control so you start to say things like,
"We're not gonna do that anymore..."
"I'm all done hearing you say..."
"If you say that one more time..."
So this morning was a bit chaotic and loud...but we're hopfully onto the better part of our day.

A few weeks ago our "neighbor" had the property surveyed where she learned that our fence is technically over her yard a few feet. She then proceeded to tare down the old barn on her property next to our house and build a new car port. While that process was happening, without talking with us, she took the fence out and hauled it away, no conversation, no "hey we wanted to build a car port could you move your fence". Nothing...it's just gone. And since it's a rental, and since my mom is moving into it in July we didn't want to cause any feathers to be resteled so we just duck taped our mouths and did our best to not throw eggs at her house...(the house next to the rental is the one that she lives in)
But we did get to see a cement truck and that was cool.

Summer is starting...it's....sl..ow...ly...starting...
And every day now that's it's sunny Eli asks me, "mommy, is today a marshmallow day?" I told him that just Sundays would be marshmallow days.
Heck yes...that's what I'm talking about!

And like that, he's 3...
I don't know when it happened...when he grew...when he became, a kid. Not a toddler, but a kid. But it's happened. He still say's "dup" for yes and we love that because it means it all hasn't gone away. He's our Pie Pie.We had Silas stay in his bedroom while I set up the room. He came out and Thomas had arrived. He was very sure these last few weeks that he wanted a Thomas party.
So that's what we did...
And I have to mention that he is very, very slow. And if your not careful in the parking lot he will wander to someone elses car or walk straight off an embankment...he's just kind gets lost in the whole walking bit and has no idea what so ever what is going on around him. And if you do try to rush him (meaning you take his hand and try to get him to walk faster) his legs will just turn into noodles and it will be even harder to get to the door. So just walk slow and you'll get there just fine...
Moses...with bag on head and with Silas knew shoes.
Thomas stayed on the whole time in the background and after lunch and cake the boys jumped.
Accidental photo...but we got bubbles and Silas loves bubbles!
Happy Birthday Silas, we love you!
It's been too long.
So I keep watching and listening to Moses these past few weeks and know that I need to update the blog so that I don't forget. He's 19 months old.

He loves to put clothing of any sort on his head and walk around the house. He loves to put anyone's shoes on and have a coat on just to walk around the house. He loves it when Jeff comes home. He screams and runs. The energy he has is contagious and we all are happier because of it.
He's very vocal when he feels ignored or a toy is taken away from him. He takes 1 good long nap after lunch and sleeps 12 hrs at night. He LOVES his two blankies and still fake nurses when he's holding them. And if I try to wash them he follows me screaming into the laundry room and rests his head on the window of the washer. I love how he is such a big boy when all the boys play outside together. He follows them around and rides or works on the car. He is doing great with the potty. During the day he wears underwear and if we leave the house or he's sleeping I put on a diaper. He's starting to come to me when he has to potty and he just kind of lingers for a bit...then I know that he's trying to tell me something. And if I tell him to go potty he will run to the bathroom and stand on the stool. He's my snuggler, more than any of the boys. He loves to be held when he wakes up and want's both blankies with him to be in hand so that he can rub them. He's the best eater ever and will devour anything you put in front of him. He loves his brothers and watches them with hope that he will be involved in all that happens.
He's a joy in our family. A reminder of love.
We love our little Mo mo.

Now...this week has been very cold. Like my skin is burning off my face cold. Like I just peed my pants and my jeans have started to freeze to my leg. The raccoons are hungry and they are desperate for food for their babies. And though, when I think of the little fuzzy babies that sit waiting in the den, longing for nourishment, I feel bad and get kinda sad, my chickens will not be sacrificed on the alter. And my boys see the sun in the morning and race to get outside only to be frost bitten and within about 10 minutes, come back in with bewilderment and haste. It took like 15 minutes to get them layered and dressed and it was just a walk to the swing, the realization that the shovels are frozen solid in the green turtle and the disappointment that there is no mud. Their spirits are squelched and they come back to the door, red and smelling like fresh air.
I want mango bread and
I'm far from mango bread...

This week (in Bremerton) Eli took a big fall down an embankment at the beach. Him and a friend were playing too close to the edge...it was an accident. His face was bleeding in 4 different places...his gum's turned black...he cried for so long. We raced to the dentist. He is going to be fine. But his heart was left with a bruise. He was scared and didn't understand why it happened. Wednesday was hard...

While on our way to Hana we stopped and met a new friend. Linda and Charles moved to Maui a few years ago. Their kids had grown up and Charles was a native. They are living in a house they are restoring and she's midwife and a beautiful artist. They opened their home to us and showed us all their hard work. Oh and she has chickens!

It's a real place.
It's on the side of Maui that's mostly uninhabited. But it's real and I keep it in my heart. I drive this road and fill my heart with the light. And I stand tall.

| And My Toes. Warm on the dash... |
| Silas also broke out in hives this week. He hadn't had milk in that last four weeks...we usually don't have it in the house, but I needed a change from oatmeal every morning so I started buying GF cereal. Well since we got back from Hawaii we hadn't drank it. Then this week we got some and he has had hives off and on all week. I finally put all the pieces together. So next week I'll give him some milk right before his doctor appointment and see if it happens again. Wondering if it's all dairy or just milk? |
