Infant Potty Training
Here is Biddles doing potty practice. IPT or EC stands for Infant Potty Training or Elimination Communication. We have a friend who told us about it who had a six month old who was going potty on the toilet, we couldn't believe it! Doubtful, at seven weeks I started making the "sssss" sound every time he went peeps (like she told me to do). Only after a day or two of doing this he started going potty when I made this sound. This also works with #2's. Now at 11 1/2 weeks Eli is completely potty trained to go #2's on the toilet. He grunts and squirms until we take him to his green potty or toilet. Peeps are easy to catch while at home but for now we use a diaper whenever we leave the house. Be sure that this is always something that he enjoys and is never forced. It is more important to build communication than anything else. Jeff and I both work together to watch for Eli's cue's for letting us know that he has to go to the potty. The average child is potty trained by 12-18 months. For more info on this you can go to the link that we have under our links list, Diaper Free Baby . Or if you have a questions just ask...I know is sounds pretty strange. But I thought since we found it fun to try, others may want to also. Potty on!!!
