Kauai Surf Break

Grama Bee and Uncle Matt!! This was
Eli's first time with my mom and brother.
They are having so much fun, Eli
is going to miss having all the attention, getting
constantly kissed and played with.

A lot has been going on this week and we've had lot's of adventures to share, but not the time to share them. So here are some pics to get everyone caught up.

Eli is now saying dada...it's very cute.He said it over and over again today, which made it official, so we put it on the calender.

We've been standing and falling...Eli is starting to move his feet and walk around whatever he has pulled himself up on. But what that really means is that there will be some tears shed. He's a tough kid, and gets right back up and goes at it again. Though He does better with the falling then
he does with the teething!

Eli had his first driving lesson with Daddy!

Hanging with da da. Eli in his new big boy underwear.
He is doing so well with the pottying it's just amazing. This
month has been a good month for communication.
He can go most days with just the underwear on
and maybe only have 1 miss. Good Job Buddy!!

Eli finds the window for the first time and entertains us all !!!

So this is the update on the standing issue. He has been crawling to anything that he can pull himself up on. Chairs, stools, the crib and standing up. He can even move his little feet around and walk a bit while holding on. Naps are really interesting. Yesterday he stood up in his crib off and on for half an hour. Finally he collapsed in a heap in the corner of the crib. He also was clapping for the first time this afternoon, this was very sweet. He was so happy.

This is his favorite toy right now....something to stand on and play with at the same time!!

I dont know what's in that super porradge but it's making Eli a Super Baby. I don't know if this is normal for a 6 month old or not, but today when I went in during an effort to get him to take a much needed nap, he was standing in his crib holding onto the rail and yelling mammamma mammmama. I was once again shocked!! When will he stop??? The funny thing was how happy he was. Just laughing up a storm. And thought it was so funny that I came in and he was standing. Then I didn't know what to do because it was going to be dangerous for me to leave him in the crib with his NEW found skills that all of sudden appeard. So Jeff told me to lower the crib, once more, and see how he does. It can't go any lower.....so we're in big trouble if he trys anything else on us. He's like that baby on The Incrediables that keeps morfing into his powers. Then to top it off I put him on the floor so that I could lower the crib and pulled himself up on his baby changing table and started to pull things off and throw them on the floor....this I recall doing this when I was a toddler, and mad, and vengful, but not at 6 Months old.

Earlier that day we walked on the ferry and spent lunch in Seattle with Grampa! This was sooo much fun, Eli has a great time...

Sleeping on the ferry...

Pulling up on the gate...

Jaxson (11 Months) and Eli...this picture makes
them look the same size, but Jax could pin
down Eli in a second. Jaxson is getting so big and is walking
around the coffee table. Don't get any ideas Eli. I do think that
Eli has been watching Jaxson and Brendon (his other friend who is 10 months)
and that's maybe where he learned how to stand!!!

Eli is off and climbing. And he is into what ever he can get his little precious hands on. I was so surpized that he could do this....shocked was more like it. I mean he just started crawling...then I looked over when we were in the kitchen and their he was up reaching for the bowls.

He's been eyeing this all week. Victory was his when he finally pulled himself up and could get to the DVD player....too bad its off limits. That's been interesting too. Now that he can touch things we have had to start disciplining (training) him. He is learning what "No Thank You" means. He's doing pretty good, but still is very curious when it comes to seeing what mom and dad will do when he knows something is off limits. Such a sweet boy, but yet so very fallen! "Lord give us wisdom!"

Yesterday was fun. We have mostly been eating rice cereal and sweet potatos, but soon Eli will be eating lost more veggies so I thought we should start mixing things up abit with the things that he can eat now. Which is avocados, banana's, mango's, papaya, basic mild fruits. So we have been putting the sweet potatos in with the rice cereal and mushing it together.

Yesterday I did that with the avocados and he loved it. Gave me a few funny faces but that's all. Then we tried some mango on its own. This was the first time I just put something on his tray and let him have at it. He ate all of it. So we will be doing mangos a lot more also. Soon he will be eating this thing call Super Baby Porridge, it has all his daily nutritial needs all mushed into one. You combine and blend veggies and then freeze then into cubes(you can make a whole months worth of food in just a few hours). The rice cereal is made every 2-3 days and kept in the fridge. Then all you do is add the cubes, pop in the microwave and serve. I'm glad that we got such a good little happy eater.

Easy Homemade Baby Rice Cereal (6 Months and Older)

1/4 Cup of Organic Short Grain Brown Rice
1 Cup of water

Put the raw rice in a blender and blend on high for 2 minutes(do the full 2 min) then add to the simmering water and stir and cook for 6-10 minutes. This makes 2-3 days worth of baby food.
(...you can also use Millet, barley or oats instead of rice)

Super Baby Porridge

~1/2 -1 Cup of Super porridge cereal
~either one vitamin A Veggie cube or 1 mashed hard-cooked egg yolk (depending on whether it's and egg yolk day) mixed into the Super Porridge
~1/2 -1 teaspoon of brewer's yeast fortified with vitamin B12 into super porridge
~1-2 Super Green Veggie Food cubes
~Vitamin C source (2-4 ounces of juice or 1/2 fruit)
~Perscription vitamin drops and iron supplement drops (if needed)

Mix, warm and serve.....in the book Super Baby Food, she explains what is in the Vitamin A veggie cubes and the green veggie cubes. It was pretty amazing how much veggies you end up feeding your baby!

This weekend we spent some time with Noah, Eli's little friend. They are only
one month apart. They are so cute when they are together.
Mostly they just make funny faces at eachother and steal toys.
But we had a lot of fun!

Here are some cute pictures that we took...

SO Cute!!

On Saturday night we went to a wedding reception this is Eli with Aunt Taryn and Grama Tia!!

Do you know what this is a picture of? Are you wondering where the baby is? The answer is that this is a picture of an emply play blanket....the baby has crawled away and is off doing other things. No longer interested in silly things like the "play blanket".
Instead he's off....

Pushing his giraffe under the TV...he loves to suck
on the ears (as you can see they are wet)
Biddles says "I squish you little giraffe..ah ha grr"

Pushing our shoes under the shoe rack...

Climbing up the latter...

Convincing Soda that they should be BFF's...(Soda's not really convinced)

Yes...it was kind of a sad day because my baby left his play blanket and is turning into a big boy!
