Kauai Surf Break

This is Eli driving his car. He likes me to push him around the house...real fast!!!

Eli, disembarking from his Bug...

On Thursday we went to our friend Alissa's moms group in Redmond. We also got to meet up with Angie and Noah and have some BFF time. Well the BFF terms might be on hold considering that Eli swiped Noah's Cell phone holder, that he loves to chew on, and made a b-line for the nearest exit. So far we have yet to apprehend Eli or the missing cell phone holder. Noah is waiting eagerly with a hefty reward.

Alissa's big guy Ethan....who will have a new baby brother in the next week or so. Eli liked playing with the big kids. Even though they mostly just took his toys. He didn't seem to mind. They were cool and he was so intrigued.

Eating lunchy.

Two babies from our church were born on Friday. This is Baby Haulsley. I don't have pictures of baby Eben yet but will hope to have them soon.... Life is so precious. We are just praising God for the blessing of these two new little ones and the health that they and both moms have. Thank you Jesus!!!

Eli is just starting to get his appetite back after having the stomach flu twice in the last two weeks. At first I was concerned that he wasn't eating, and then the other night I just put all his food on the tray and went about doing stuff in the kitchen. And then he ate all the food. He just wanted to do it himself: His independence grows more and more every day! So I guess we have moved on to a new stage. The Super Messy Eating stage. I was so happy to feed Eli and keep everything nice and clean, but those days are over. At least he is eating. His favorite food this week has been Horizon Organic Whole Milk Yogurt (w/ cream on top) Plain. We have tried a bunch of different yogurts and he loathed them all. But no funny faces with the Horizon. Well except for this face...which is the "i'm all done" face.

Jess let us borrow SuperBrendens walker. Eli crawled over too it as soon as he saw it and stood right up, he was sooooo excited. He pushed it all over the house, but mostly just got stuck after he went in one direction. He was focused when he would get stuck too. He kept trying to push it harder. Finally Jeff had to help him and turn him around. He's getting so big!!!

Eli's new favorite way to eat his banana. The last few mornings this has
been what he has been eating for breakfast.
Half a banana (all by himself of course) and a 1/2 cup of yogurt.

Ava and Eli..(Ava wanted to hold the baby :) so sweet)
This weekend we went and visited some friends from seaside, Dan and Heidi who live in Tahulla.
We ate some lunch at their place and then went to Pete and Cindy's (Heidi's parents who also go to Seaside) where we saw spent some time on the beach and picked out some oysters to take home...yummm.

Well we have good news. Eli went to the doctor today and they said that he does not have an ear infection or strep throat. He has two teeth coming in and the stomach flu. He hasn't eaten any real people food since Friday night. I did give him some mild fruit (papaya, mango, kiwi and pear) this morning and it did stay down. Then he nursed in the morning but then turned off for the rest of the day and would not nurse. He got a fever so I started to worry. Plus he had gotten sick last night after being asleep for a few hours. So we went to the doctor (our friend Dr.Tolls who is soooo very great and right here in Bremerton) and he saw me as a walk in.....thank the Lord. That was so answered prayer. They had no openings at his regular Doctor's office and both the ER and the prompt care would have been well over a two hour wait. If fact I was at the ER when they said there would be 8 people ahead of him. I went right upstairs to where I new Dr. Tolls worked (I cleaned his house for 2 yrs) and they took me right in. I was so surprised and felt so blessed. He's a Christian too. So God was so faithful to ease my mind. He said he was a very healthy baby. He reached in and felt the upper two front teeth and said they were coming in and that he had the flu. Wow...teeth are trouble. Well and so is the flu. But the rest of the afternoon he looked like he was doing much better. Playing with his toys, walking around, and eating things off the floor that he should not be eating....like the twig that Jeff found him chewing on. So he seems to be getting better and tomorrow morning we will try some real food and see how he does. Oh and we got the camera...so here's the first shot for the blog. This is Eli's squishy mean face....Thanks for praying!!!

Well Eli has the stomach flu. He was up all night last night, sick. He slept with us so that we could be right there when he got sick. It was so hard to watch my little guy in so much discomfort. He was doing better today but got sick twice. He has only nursed, (no real food). So pray that he gets better. We called the doctor and let them know the situation just to make sure we didn't need to get him checked out. They said that if he still wasn't keeping stuff down by tomorrow then to bring him in. I'm sick also (I have strep again), and Jeff hasn't been feeling 100% so he's been resting too. Don't worry Eli can't get strep. His doctor told us that babies under 2 very rarely ever get it. So lets just pray for that also.

Thanks....we'll keep you posted.

Well this is Eli going up his first stair. He tried the first time and didn't have much luck. Then Jeff put him back down again and he went right up. I was so proud, and so was Jeff. Though it made me thankful that we don't have stairs. These will be the last photos you will see until early next week. Our camera finally died so we had to get a new one. The good news is that Costco gave us a FULL refund so we took our cash and put it towards a camera that can also take really good video also. So the new one should be here on Monday or Tuesday. See you then!!!

PS Thanks Grama B for the cool socks that keep me from slipping on the wood floors. Love bids

So precious. Eli slept a lot this week. He even had a few days where all of his naps were 2 hours long. I think he is fighting off a cold. He seems pretty happy though.
This is Eli doing is normal cupboard inspection. He makes sure everything is messy and on the floor. He is really good at this and trys hard to pull every item.

I'm gonna get you. I'm sooo close. raarrrrrarrrr...rarar. Here I come again...

Standard sequence of events. Grey seems to really enjoy Eli though. Eli is very gentle and loving. She lets him pet her for a while and then will eventually leave. But she is never agressive like Soda was. Soda isPublish now gone if I hadn't mentioned. He is now with my dad...happier then ever. But Eli now is totally focused on Grey and loves to crawl after her around the house.

Eli now has an infatuation with the freezer. Jeff was trying to organize some stuff and Eli wouldn't stay out. We had to move him like 10 times. He had no pants on, of course, but that didn't seem to bother him. Brrrrr cold!!!

First picnic on the new deck. We had lunchy outside on Thursday.

This was funny! I went in this morning to get him and his leg was hanging out of the bars. He was happy until I left to get the camera. Of course he felt abandoned and confused. Furry soon set in and then complete madness. He's ok now...

About me

Hi I'm Kim. My husband Jeff and I live in Kauai with our 4 boys. I mostly love sunshine, coffee and surfing. So Kauai really works well. We came here and opened a non-profit coffee shop call Ha Coffee Bar. It's taken me some time to know my voice but now I'm listening. This is my journal.
You might find me writing about, legos, Minecraft, space, story writing, painting, surfing, coffee, veganism. We also dabble in the minimalist lifestyle and try our best to focus on experiences rather then things!
