Kauai Surf Break
We started off the morning still in PJ's to our favorite bakery! Where Saturday morning cinnamon rolls are fresh, warm and BIG. We went there a lot when I was pregnant with Eli (I mean I ate the veggie donuts of course). So he likes it there, but doesn't really care for donuts, but Eli loves being around people and always has lots to say to whoever is around. We even let him have a bit of our cinnamon roll this time and he took a few bites and then said all done. I think he would like a plain donut, maybe next time we'll let him try one of those.

CHEEZZE!

Then we had to go to the mall to make an exchange and jump around at the play area. Eli loves this place. Lots of foam and room to run.
He's getting super daring with the climbing. All over the place and no fear.

Look at the toe grip action.
Maybe we need to take him rock climbing at the indoor place.

All by himself down the slide.

He went fast and landed hard...but got right up. I think he even got air!

Choo Chooing with daddy!

Jeff is super good and making tracks. I'll leave the room when nothings there and then come back and see this very elaborate track. I know where Eli gets all his skills from.

Last weekend my dad came for a few days to help Jeff with the railing for the deck. Eli and Grampa had lots of fun and engaged in very important conversation!

This is my dad and Eli having a conversation. It was the sweetest thing ever. Eli saw Grampa looking at the paper and wanted to join in. So then Eli found out about cars and trucks in the newspaper. A overwhelming realization for him.

We finally got Eli some big crayons a few weeks ago. Jeff taped some butcher block paper to the table and we let him have at it. It last about 10 minutes or so. He really loved it when we drew a football or a basket ball. I think we will have to try finger paints soon also.

These crayons are great because as you can see they don't roll and are big enough for his little hand. They are by Mellissa & Doug and also are non-toxic...so I guess he could eat them if he needed too. But he hasn't done that yet. Eli's not really a eater of things that aren't food, which we are very thankful for.

Just some cute shots that I took over the last few weeks!

Last week we met up with some friends at a park. It was a little chilly but so warm in the sun. It was such a beautiful day!

Eli's friend Page!
OH YES! Daddy's bike helmet. Eli gets so worked up about this helmet it's kinda like rusty nails in my eyeballs. First he wants it on, then he wants it tied, then he realizes that he can't get it off, so he starts to cry and wants it off and then he wants it on again. Some days I can do this like 15 times. I tried to put it in the attic but Jeff wouldn't let me. So right now its kinda hiding. At least so I can get a break!

Unhappy that he can't get it off.
Last week our friends Angie and Noah came to visit for the day. The boys played so great together. I think this was the first time they really could appreciate each others company. We also went to a park down the street. We wished they lived closer so that we have more fun days like this.

Off to the park!
We learned from the first time that at this park it is vital that you bring a ball. So with balls in hand we went prepared for whatever may come.

Noah actually does a summersalt off the end of the slide, I wish I had gotten it on video. He landed right on his head. I think his sneaker got stuck on the slide and it made him go forward. He just got right back up though and didn't even cry!
This is Eli watching "Kitty" (Milo and Otis) Now he walks into the guest room and says "Kitty"..."Kitty", while pointing to the TV. I just thought he looked so big eating a snack laying on his belly watching TV. You can see that his face is kinda beat up. The bruise on his cheek is from him tripping and walking into a pile of plastic shopping carts and the scratch on the nose is from a tantrum.

Eli's "Cho Cho". He now is playing with this everyday. So we just keep the tub out in the living room and at the end of the day we make him pick it all up and then the next day he sets up a track and plays with it off an on. We've been really impressed with his track building skills.

About me

Hi I'm Kim. My husband Jeff and I live in Kauai with our 4 boys. I mostly love sunshine, coffee and surfing. So Kauai really works well. We came here and opened a non-profit coffee shop call Ha Coffee Bar. It's taken me some time to know my voice but now I'm listening. This is my journal.
You might find me writing about, legos, Minecraft, space, story writing, painting, surfing, coffee, veganism. We also dabble in the minimalist lifestyle and try our best to focus on experiences rather then things!
