Kauai Surf Break
My mom and brother came to visit us this last week and met Silas for the first time. We have had a great time just hanging out and visiting. We are sad that they are leaving and will miss them very much. Plus I will have to go back to being a mom during the day with no helpers. Boohoo....

Friday we went to Seattle for the day!

We went to Fritz's fountain play and fries.

In Seattle taking a rest from the stroller.
Eli lining up things that need to be lined up...of course!

We had a little party for Eli's birthday with just my mom, Matt and Pat and Kristy. Uncle Pat brought Eli a bulldozer that he played with when he was a kid. Eli has been sleeping with it ever since.

SiPi going potty.
Currently when we are home he doing really well with potty's and poo's on the potty. He really enjoys sitting on the potty and laughing.

More birthday presents from Grama..

Cake time!
We went a BBQ this weekend to celebrate our friends birthday. This is Eli and Jeff on a ride in the little boat.
Eli confiscating all the construction machines for himself. It was really funny to watch him take them one at a time away from the area where all the other were playing.

Eli playing with the kids that found his construction machines. Slightly disappointed that they found him and that they don't want to play how he is telling them too. But he seemed to manage.
Lining more things up...

More Photo's SOON...

So much has happened over the last few months it's hard to keep up. The latest thing that we have had to tackle is Eli having a potty protest. It started last Monday. He stopped telling up when he had to go to the bathroom. I mean complete acknowledgment of ALL movements. So I thought that it must be because Silas is wearing diapers or cause he is getting his 2 year molars...whatever. But just in the last few days things have been going back to normal. I was freaking out a bit. I think I changed more poopy diapers in last 8 days then I have changed his entire life. And that no exaggeration. Overall he is doing well though. Very busy with all his new trucks and cars that he got from the Kboys (http://4kboys.blogspot.com/). He has to take 6 or 7 with him every time he leaves the house. They are dropping all over the driveway, their all over the car. I think I might have to put some away for awhile to keep the balance.
Silas is still determined to crawl...even though he can't...he thinks he can if he just try's hard enough. He is rolling over, talking and laughing. He is a very funny kid. I can tell that he will be the one that will always have to keep the peace and try to make you laugh. He's taking 2-3 really long naps a day, one in the morning, one during Eli's nap and then a cat nap in the afternoon. The morning nap is great because we go to the pool around 10 am till 1pm almost every day and he sleeps over half the time we are there. This gives me time to spend with Eli and play in the water.

We started vacation with going to the pool before we left town. This was last Wednesday. We drove to Selah, Wa and stayed the night at our friends Dana and Dougs and there 4 boys, then the next afternoon hit the road for the rest of the drive.

Both kids fell asleep after we started driving. Notice that I took Silas's head impact out. He was so hot that I felt bad. He seemed to sleep better with it out.

Eli loved playing with the boys. For him it was like Disneyland. Unlimited amounts of truck, car and trains. Plus fours boys to follow around and play with.

It got really hot around ummm like 10 am so the boys broke out the snow cone machine.

Sumpter, OR
I think Eli found the first great find. It was a scraper..ooohhhh...so cool. He didn't let it go the rest of the day.

Uncle Pat on Eli Patrol.

When we were eating lunch the train started to come. Jeff and Pat took Eli to see it. And for a moment it was fun. Then the whistle blew and it really scared Eli.

Grammy Faith with Silas

So this was our first attempt to do naps. I was pretty proud considering:
1. They were in a tent.
2. It was like 80 degrees.
3. They were in there together.
4. and Eli was cracked out cause his nap was so late.

Eli's other cool find at the market was an excavator.

The Gang

Waiting for the shuttle to take us to the market.
You can either do the 20 min walk or take a shuttle. We did both throughout the weekend.

Grampa with the SI PIE

The HILL.

Luke and Jamie came to visit also with their little guy Eben. It was nice for Eli to have someone to play with. Grammy Faith also brought some musical instruments for Eli. So those were fun to have. I guess Eben is quite the drummer.

Then back to Dana's on the way home. We went to the pool and played in the yard. We had so much fun that we ended up staying an extra day so that we could hang out more. We don't get to see them very much so this was worth the trip to Sumpter, just so we could see them.

About me

Hi I'm Kim. My husband Jeff and I live in Kauai with our 4 boys. I mostly love sunshine, coffee and surfing. So Kauai really works well. We came here and opened a non-profit coffee shop call Ha Coffee Bar. It's taken me some time to know my voice but now I'm listening. This is my journal.
You might find me writing about, legos, Minecraft, space, story writing, painting, surfing, coffee, veganism. We also dabble in the minimalist lifestyle and try our best to focus on experiences rather then things!
