He's a cute one that's for sure....
It's been amazing to finally have Moses here and make our family more complete. Mostly I've been nursing, resting, sleeping, eating, playing with the boys, looking at Moses and then repeat. Jeff says that any interaction that I have with the Eli and Silas is completely voluntary on my behalf and not at all expected. I was a bit unsure of how this time would look. Jeff gave me a nice little talk about me parenting from the bedroom...which only lasted the first few minutes of Thursday morning. He put a quick stop to that :) With the other two there was lots of time for babymooning, but I wondered what this would look like with this being #3. This time though has really has been wonderful...lots of time to enjoy Moses and adjust to having a newborn again. My milk came in on Saturday morning which made nursing so much easier and made Moses oh so very happy. Nursing is overall going better then I expected. Each day it gets easier and Moses is really quick to get it. Even by the end of today he's better at latching on then he was this morning. I still have toe curling soreness for the first few seconds but much better then the other two times. Maybe that's cause I just finished nursing Silas 4 months ago, I don't know.
I asked Jeff today what he thought it would look like to be nursing Moses during these first few weeks that he goes back to work, while also having the boys. Silas is quick and often very secretively getting into mischief. Jeff will be home till next Monday so I'm hoping that by then I'll kinda have it figured out. I thought I could just put a whole bunch of food on the table and then close all the doors, ya know, trap them in the central living area! We'll see :)
Day 3 was an emotional day, normal though and I just needed to cry a bit and then I felt better. My midwife said that it was normal on day 3 to feel cryie...I was glad. I was quickly trying to figure out my emotions Sunday morning but couldn't put anything together. It was nice to be reminded that I was normal. I will have to post Moses birth story soon. Especially cause I need to write it down while it's still fresh.
Everyone keeps asking how the boys are doing. Silas just points to the baby and pokes Moses in the head and says DaDa...(which means baby). He brings him cars and trains and then runs away. So I think he's fine with him, but right now he has Jeff and next week he won't so I think it might be different when Jeff goes back to work. Eli is also doing fine. He's really excited about Moses and likes to pat his head. If the baby is in the other room for a second and I walk out he says "Mom, where's baby Moses?" very concerned. Eli asked me this morning why he had 2 pee pees, a black one and white one, and then asked, what was wrong with the other one. I just explained to him that the black one was really is belly button. That seemed to clear things up pretty quick. Today we just went for a short walk down the street and he loved that Moses was in the sling with me and we were all walking together. He's very sweet.
My thoughts this week, now that we have 3, have been how I will keep track of all there little lives. I want to remember each of them and the things they do as they grow. So I am committing to more blogging/journaling. That means probably posting things that, unless you really love my kids, you might find redundant, boring, or unimportant. Why not just journal, like in a scrapbook or something??? You may ask...Well for me it's somewhat motivating and easier to journal about our life when I know that I have an audience...granted it's not a very big one and most of you are family...but it's an audience at that. Plus this is free and easier to make time for since it's just typing and uploading photos. With precious time slipping away as I watch my boys grow I need all I can get!
So with that here's some photos from the last few days!
