Milestones

by - 9:02 PM

So a few milestones have happened for both the boys. Silas is now crawling on all fours, well at least 3-4 crawls and then back on the belly for army crawling. I think he's torn because he can army crawl REALLY fast, but the novelty of crawling on all fours is fun and new. He really is a super star. Plus he cut his first tooth on October 25th...and then on Friday the 31st I looked in there and noticed another one just about to pop. So now we are at two teeth for Silas.
Eli this week has been doing really well. Right now he loves to sing his mighty machine song whenever he is playing with is bulldozers or when he's eating and he thinks he's an excavator. It's very funny to listen to. Mostly though he is just learning to talk more and more. Lot's of words. He's so smart when he read books too because he just starts talking about all the things that are going on in the Richard Scary books. But today was a big day because he counted to 10 twice. He did it for me in the morning and then for Jeff tonight when they were reading books. We were so proud. He also is now no longer needing diapers at naps. I know that it's been a convenience thing for him to just go in his diaper when he wakes up...so I just thought that I would let him decide when he was ready. There are enough battles to pick with him as a 2 year old. So I'm glad that he is now past that. I forgot to mention also that Si is saying Mama and Dada...not really knowing what he's saying, but definitely saying it when he's sad I leave if he thought we were going to nurse (don't worry I come back). And loves to say Dada all morning long..especially when he wakes up and Jeff is around. So precious. He is growing up twice as fast as Eli.

I'm tempted with the idea of putting them in the same room...is there anyone out there who's been gutsy with this and done it?? And if so do you have any suggestions??

Eli getting his face painted. He wanted a moon.

This was his protest of having to wear his costume. Jeff told me just to take it off. I was about to take it off but he got up and got distracted. And yes he WAS crying in this photo.

Also, we have all the girls in the same room and i think its great to start them when they're babies...they just are used to each noises at night. And the way emma snores, this is great prep for when they have husbands!

  3. Kim,
have you forgot about all your friends with their kids stacked wall-to-wall (okay, not really)? Yes, you should put them in the same room, get them used to each other and going back to sleep on their own.

Oh, and love those pics of Silas in his costume, so cute!!

  5. I put both boys in together when right before Baby Girl was born. Then, about six months later, I had to drop the second's nap, because he doesn't need as much sleep as The Elder. So, poor Gavin was being kept up and woken up early and getting tireder and tireder (is that a word????). I finally dropped the Second's nap and put them both to bed around 6:30pm. Worked like a charm after a transition time. The Elder is still more tired, but at least he can sleep in and Ephraim, comes out of the room to play.

Baby Girl can sleep through anything, having to hear two very loud boys since her ears started working!
