Christmas Tree Time

Alpine Tree Farm

I got kinda an early itch to get a tree this year so on Saturday we went with the Hasen's to Alpine to chop one down. Turns out we picked the day that it would be a total blizzard. Eli was ok, only a little cold. All the trees were so good that it didn't take long for us to find the perfect one.

And here we have the snow princesses with Eli. Emma wasn't too sure about all the snow and as you can Miss Snow Princess Ainsley chose to wear a skirt.
Eli with Dada in his pack. This worked great for the sideways snow and the the strong wind. When I checked on him he didn't have a single snowflake on his face.

Since Jeff was wearing Eli, he let me have a go at the tree. I gave up quickly and said that I would watch Eli.
Of course Jeff had is down in a snap.
When Jeff went to go put the tree on the car I slowly walked back with Eli in the snow. I think he did three face plants on the way back.
This was the second face plant. Ooooh poor Eli....the snow was just so deep and his little legs just kept getting caught. I would have carried him but I had the saw and the pack. We made it back and Eli was shivering. We then went to the Hansen's to get warm and have some cider.

Tree Decorating

Well really I decorated while Eli ate the decorations. He tried to eat a old ginger bread decoration and then later tried to eat the mouse that was in a little box. He also kept putting the decorations to his ears...maybe they were speaking to him. I have no idea. He did try to put on a few decorations, but didn't want to touch the tree. I think he thinks its weird that we have a tree in our house.

"Hello. Christmas. Are you in there?"

"Hello"

Eli finding and eating the gingerbread decoration from who knows how long ago.

"Tasty Christmas mouse"

Merry Christmas!

  1. It looks so pretty! I love the tree. We have loved making the tradition of cutting one down. How fun!

  2. Seeing you down on the ground trying to cut down that tree, I almost forgot you were pregnant...until I saw that belly shot with you next to the tree. Still, you are so tiny.

Abby won't touch our tree either, very surprising (but glad for it!).
