The Ottoman and Other Things
The ottoman has been the new place were Eli has been hanging out. He has brought out all his favorite toys and put them in the window sill. He will sit up here for large parts of the day and just rearrange things and stack things, playing make pretend. He does like to stand, which is not ok. So we have been having a bit of a battle of wills for standing VS sitting (or on knees). This is only a big deal because he has fallen twice, one time leaving an imprint of the extension cord on his forehead and the other time hurting his wrist (I can't handle having any more broken bones, at least not until he can say for himself that mommy and daddy DO NOT abuse him). So yesterday was a really hard day. And when I say hard I mean that there can be long times spent on disciplining. Mommy always has to win those battles, which can take a while, but we are both learning. More on that later....today has been a good day. With lots of obeying and a very happy heart!
Sometimes he tries to put the little people "Animals" in the wheel chair, but they wont fit, cause there not people. He gets all worked up and starts yelling "Hep Ezz, Hep Ezz", which means Help Please. If no one comes then he just throws them on the floor in a fit a rage and moves on.
(something we are working on)
Yesterday when we got home from church he took all the little people and put them in a nice row. Such a particular little guy.
Ok these are the army men. They sometimes come out of the box and get to stand on the box. He is really good at putting them up and then knocking them down.
Eli found my hat this morning and said "Hep Ezz" for me to put it on. He kept it on for quite some time. So I took the opportunity to get some pictures. He was Hammy today so it was easy to get some good ones. For some reason he was in a particularly good mood.
This is the official new set up. We got these plates at Walmart for a $1.00. I had tried him a real high chair for a few days, but the thing was too big for our house and it ended up being hard to clean. So after looking at the Stenwicks blog I got inspired and thought maybe if I get him a plate he will be able to keep the food in one place. Sure enough, it worked great. He still wants to dump the plate at the end but that's ok, we'll work on that this week.

so fun! I just love the ways kids are so busy...and Eli is so very clever
ReplyDeleteSo cute how he lines up all those toys. He was probably telling "no" to his little sibling, that what the big ones like to do :)
