South...
This girl needed to head south. Her man is far away and she was looking for a place to call home while he's gone. And she's looking south because that's where his boat is, that's where her heart is. And when you've lost something the world stops for a moment. Lost keys right now come to mind but they just don't cut it. No it's more like you're in a dark room and someone rearranged all your furniture and your kids are crying and you can't find them and you keep bumping into things...yeah it's kinda like that. You know...when you loose your heart and you can't find it and your world stops. That's kinda, sorta maybe just a piece of what it's like. So I held her tight and we charged.
I'll take you home..we'll do it together. So me, without kids, took a quick trip to Cali this last weekend and it was epic...
And you should have seen us. We couldn't have asked for more. People where all like "hey can I help you with this?" "Oh, can I hold this for you while you get your stuff?" "Hey how about I take that for you...wait...give me one more thing." oh and I know that God sent an Angle when in the security line my present for Michelle didn't get tossed in the pile of other lonely and lost bottles of items over 3oz. "Merry Christmas" he said and smiled and put the bubble bath back in the wrapping. Or how about the guy that took our luggage all the way to row 24 (the last row) and even found a spot for it up top. I'm telling you, it was epic...
Boots came also...but being it was Cali they mostly sat by the front door once we where there.
And with only having one day to make all our own we drove to the coast with shell's dad and sister. I don't make it a habit to drive in California. But the rental car was in my name because I was only there for a few days and I would be driving myself back to the airport. They tried to give us a hybrid and we couldn't use that, it had no trunk, so we got a camery with GPS. There were a few moments when I thought I was a bit over my head...but I did what anyone should do when they are in that situation...you strut...
and getting passed...
And I'm imaging me and Jeff in one of these in 20 years...
And we rolled into that beach and we where like...this is all ours. And we ran...
Three generations...
And bringing her home was a journey...and when you have 3 kids under the age of 4, 3 car seats, and 5 bags you have to just do one thing at a time, make sure everyone is safe, take time to go slow and not rush. And when you do it all with love it's just so sweet. And wow, well, that how life should be anyways...right. I'm sure trying to make it ours...And Michelle looked over to me on the plane and said "you know that feeling you get when your sure your right where your suppose to be..." (smile), oh yes!
It's all yours little boy...
Dude, we even had dolphins...I told you it was epic.
And thinking about Jeff...I had to. Because when I'm not with him...my heart's a little lost. I'm bumping into things around the house and not sure what to do with all the lunch I made.
Strut.
And we had big plans of night clubs and speed way racing...but when really it came down to it we didn't know what to do with ourselves. All we could come up with (without kids), was Tillys, Trader Joes, and Sushi. You should have seen us in TJ's...we were like "hey come look at this new prune walnut bar thing...that would go really good with goat cheese" and "holy crap they now have that Gluten free." And we went down every isle and made sure we didn't miss a thing. Because that for us was filling some deep need to be out without a purpose. No one needed us or was waiting for us. It was....wait for it...epic. And only in my little world, is going to Trader Joes epic...and that's ok.
Umm this the largest Target in the world. I made it my last stop before the trip back home by myself. I woke up with a cold and the chills, but I had to go.
Sweet and Epic! Come home soon...my heart's a little lost without you...
